Ottawa Carleton Soccer League

About the OCSL

Founded in 1974, the Ottawa Carleton Soccer League (OCSL) is the largest sanctioned adult league in the province. We are a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the development and enjoyment of soccer in communities across the National Capital Region. The League is composed of over 280 adult teams from more than fifty soccer clubs, competing in thirty distinct categories based on age and level of play.

The OCSL is proud to have amongst its alumni, members of our men's and women's national teams as well as students who have earned athletic scholarships to play while pursuing post-secondary education. More importantly, since its inception, the League has provided a safe environment to play soccer for tens of thousands of people in the region, aiding in the development of team skills and contributing to a healthy lifestyle.

The League was incorporated in 1992 and is managed by a volunteer board (League Management Board - LMB), whose responsibility it is to develop and support the game within its jurisdiction, and to ensure fairness, transparency, accountability, and efficiency to its member clubs. The League maintains a policy of zero tolerance of discrimination, harassment and violence in any and all forms in the conduct of its operations.

Our League activities are conducted in a manner consistent with the democratically established Constitution and By-laws. The League and its Management Board are also guided by the rules and regulations of the Eastern Ontario Soccer (District Association), Ontario Soccer, and Canadian Soccer.

The outdoor season typically runs from mid-May to early September, depending on the division. The OCSL charges a team fee to all participating teams, with field fees applied only to clubs that require fields through the League. Referee fees and player registration fees are billed separately by Eastern Ontario Soccer (EOS) or the appropriate district governing body. Match official education, mentorship, and assignment are currently owned by EOS or the local district and fall outside the League’s jurisdiction.
