The OCSL was informed this morning that the Ontario Soccer board of directors voted to overturn it's operational procedure 5.6, which restricted/limited U16 (born 2010) and U17 (born 2009) players from playing in adult leagues like the OCSL.
With the decision overturned, this means that for the upcoming summer season, U16 and U17 players are permitted to play in the OCSL.
We understand there are a lot of moving parts and internal discussions to be had for many of your clubs and teams, and that teams' registrations for the OCSL competitive leagues (specifically U21) may have a directly impact on the older EOSL youth divisions. Similarly, the EOSL and OCSL would like to get teams placed as quickly as possible to begin planning for the summer.
Given this, we have reopened the competitive application period until Tuesday, March 31st. We ask that any club that wishes to add a competitive team resubmit it's competitive application form to manager@ocslonline.ca by no later than March 31. Keep in mind the competitive withdrawal deadline isn't until April 15, so you'll still have two weeks to pull the team if it isn't viable or want to play elsewhere.
If you have any questions or wish to discuss further please reach out ASAP to manager@ocslonline.ca.
